Level: Medium (It is not technically difficult but there are long distances that require a 5 to 6 hour walk each day)

This trek takes three days, we will trek across Cerro Catedral, Rucaco Valley and Casa de Piedra Valley. Visiting some high mountain lagoons and mountain lodges.


Day one:
Around 4 hours hike to get to Frey mountain hut. We can choose a walk on the ridge or through the forest trail. We will see big lenga trees , streams. The valley where is Frey hut is surrounded by granite spires where climbers love to spend many days.

Day two:
We set out from Frey lodge early in the morning, border the lake then we climb up the rocky flanks of Catedral all the way to the ridge.Views of Vn Osorno, Tronador (3.354m), Lanin (3.776m), and right below us the green "lenga" forests of Rucaco valley. We will climb down the western slope; strewn with boulders and shale until we reach the valley. Walk across the valley to Brecha Negra Mountain (1900 mt). Once we descend this mountain we get to Ref. Jakob surrounded by a beautiful lake and bushes.

Day three:
Surrounding Jakob´s valley. Hike to laguna Los Tempanos, that have little icebergs floating over. We start the descent from the mountains, following the Casa de Piedra valley. It is a beautiful trek watching green and whites views. Nice sound of rivers flowing down. After 5 or 6 hours we will arrive to a ranch, where lives a typical gaucho. Our transport will be waiting us there. Return to the hotel

We will see the amazing Cerro Tronador and the volcanoes Osorno, Puntiagudo and Lanin.

Day one:
We will ascend to Lopez Lodge (1600m). This lodge stays at the limit of vegetation, and offers an amazing view of the Nahuel Huapi Lake and Colonia Suiza (a little farmer and turistic village), the basaltic spire of Aguja Lürs (150m) and other rock formations. The ascent can be on foot or with 4x4 drive, this is up to the trekker.


Day two:
We will ascend Cerro López. After two hours of walking the northeast face of this mountain, we will arrive to the summit, where we will have an impressive view of Cerro Tronador and the volcanoes Puntiagudo, Osorno and Lanin. Then we will climb down into the Balley-Willis valley.Finally we get to Manfredo Segre lodge. We will spend the night there, facing the marvellous cerro Negro and Laguna Negra. If the trekkers keep motivated, we can climb up the Cerro Negro through an easy face.


Day Three:
This day we get into the Goye's valley, river that starts at Laguna Negra. After an hour of walk we will arrive to the bottom of the Goye's valley. Then we will follow Goye's creek. After 4 hours we will arrive to Colonia Suiza, where will be our transport waiting for us. Transportation to the hotel.

This is a real Patagonian trek, where we will sleep just one night in a mountain lodge and the rest of the trip will be sleeping in tents. It is very interesting the quantity of lagoons, valleys, ridges and creeks that we are going to cruise. This trek brings you a very deep exploration about the area. If the weather is good you will enjoy a lot the hike, the camp fires, our good meals and maybe if you want you can swim a little bit in a high Andes lagoons!!!


Day 1:
We start in Colonia Suiza, a little farmer village founded by people from Switzerland who came at the beginning of the XIX century. We are going to follow a trail that goes besides the arroyo Goye, this creek comes from the heights of the mountains. The forest is mainly coihues and cypress, in the lowest part. Later, when we will get up between 900 and 1.400m the woods are "lenga", a typical Nothofagus from Patagonia. After 2 or 3 hs walking starts a climb up on a trail that takes us to the foot of cerro Negro and laguna Negra, where is the Manfredo Segre lodge (1.650m). We will spend the night there facing the Cerro Negro (2200m), beside the Laguna Negra (it has a very deep blue color)

Day 2:
We start early in the morning, after a good breakfast. Climb up to the saddle and nice walk down to the Valley of LLuvu. Once we get to the Lluvú creek we will start to climb up the opposite face. Once we reach this altitude we arrive to lagoon CAB we are. You will enjoy a very good meal in your cozy tent. The view is fantastic: CAB lagoon, Brazo Tristeza, Tronador, Osorno, Lanin and also the green vegetation of "lengas.

Day 3:
This day we will hike from CAB lagoon through different valleys, high meadow , ridges. This day we will see many high lagoons. This place has a beautiful laguna Azul, where enormous walls of granite finish in the water of this little lake. Night in a tent..

Day 4:
We are going to climb up to the col between cerro Punta Negra and cerro El Capitan, this is a typical rocky trail. In the middle of this hike will appear the laguna Jujuy, Once we get to this col we will get focused on cerro Tronador and its amazing landscape, below us will be the "magic" laguna Ilon, I said "magic", because this lagoon looks like a "pseudo tropical lagoon" in the middle of the Patagonian Andes. An excellent place to enjoy the view to the glaciers of Cerro Tronador.

Day 5:
Descent from laguna Ilon to Pampa Linda. After 4 hours we arrive to a little Village called Pampa Linda, where is a Rangers station, Hotel and campings. In this place starts the trail to hike up the Cerro Tronador, refugio Otto Meiling. Return to Bariloche

This trek offers the possibility to visit our four main Mountain Lodges in the area: refugio Frey, Jakob, Laguna Negra and López. You will enjoy long days trek across the Patagonian Andes, crossing valleys, meadows, creeks, ridges, etc. We will spend the night in the lodges and enjoy their typical meals, to fuel up our energies to keep going on next day. This trek will bring you an spectacular experience about our National Park, meals and culture of Northern Patagonia.

Day 1:

Day 3:
This day we are going to hike up the Pico Refugio, across a rocky culoir to get to the ridge of Cerro Navidad (Mt Christmas), is our technical day. After hiking through this ridge for some hours we will have the cerro Negro right in front of us, with its majestic blackness impression. Below us, we will see the Goye's valley, where we will head to. Once we get to the valley we will climb up trough the Laguna Negra´s trail to get finally to Manfredo Segre´s lodge where we will enjoy Laguna Negra´s view. Facing the Cerro Negro (2.200m). We spend the night at this lodge.

Day 4:
This morning we walk along Laguna Negra, we climb up cerro Bailey Willis, this mountain is very generous for trekkers, have very easy slopes to walk trough. Once we cross it, we will start to climb up the south face of cerro Lopez, arriving finally to its summit, called Pico turista (2.200m aprox). The view is perfect: Cerro Tronador, Brazo Tristeza, Volcanoes Lanin, Osorno and Puntiagudo. From there we start the descent to the refugio Lopez, this takes us around hour and a half, across .Finally there, we rest, drink something in the lodge and keep climbing down to the base of Cerro Lopez. Also, we can descent in 4x4 drive, this is up to the trekkers. Return to the hotel

Day 5: Spare weather day.

Level: Medium

This trek takes between 5-6 days, depends on the weather and the rhythm of the group. Is a combination between Lopez- Laguna Negra and Col. Suiza Pampa Linda. This excursion starts with an ascent in 4x4 to Lopez Lodge (1600m). From this place starts the trek that will take us to Manfredo Segre (Laguna Negra). This trek takes around 6 hours walking. From day 2 onward is the same as the trekking Colonia Suiza - Pampa Linda.

Day 1:
