We've selected this area as the base for our operations because of the wide variety of awesome outdoor activities we can offer here as well as the pleasant climate (compared to southern Patagonia). Bariloche and the Lake District offer everything an outdoor enthusiast could wish, satisfying skiers in winter, kayakers in spring and hikers in summer. Ideal for infinite trekking possibilities, the outstanding system of backcountry lodges in the area makes for great multi-day hiking and ski touring. The granite spires of Cerro Catedral will inspire any climber to tackle alpine challenges. With fast moving rivers flowing both east and west from the height of the Andes, there's a wide variety of rivers for kayakers to explore and enjoy. With warm and sunny beaches on the shores of mountain lakes (Lake Illon for example), the area often feels like a "pseudo Tropics." The four seasons are well differentiated here and each is particularly suitable for enjoying unique activities.
