DESCRIPTION:The most iconic ski touring trip in the World\nChamonix Zermatt\nIFMGA-UIAGM guides \n\n\n\n\nThe Haute Route\, (or the High Route or Mountaineers’ Route) is the name given to a route (with several variations) undertaken on foot or by ski touring between Chamonix in France and Zermatt in Switzerland\, enjoying the views of the classic Alps\, as Mont Blanc\, Matterhorn\, Pigne de Arolla\, Grand Combin\, Dente Blance and others. \nFirst charted as a summer mountaineering route by members of the English Alpine Club in the mid-19th century. The route takes 5 nights/ 6 days for the 180 km from the Chamonix valley\, home of Mont Blanc\, to Zermatt\, home of the Matterhorn.  Originally dubbed “The High Level Route” in English by members of the hiking club\, the term was translated into French when first successfully undertaken on skis in 1911. DESCRIPTION:Ski touring in between 4000 meters peaks in the most glaciated area of the Alps \nIFMGA mountain guides \nThe Bernese Oberland is the highest part of the canton of Berna\, this area is surrounded by many 4000’s peaks\, having the biggest concentration of higher peaks in the Alps. The area is well provided with Swiss Alpine huts\, which gives an easy and friendly logistic to climb a big amount of the 4000 peaks\,  spending nights in different mountain huts. \nThe most famous mountains that surround the area are: The Eiger\, The Monk\, Jungfrau\, Finsteraarnhorn and other satellites. \nWe love this area because is a bit less crowded than the Classic Haute Route and gives the opportunity to do nice ski tours with nice summits\, involves a bit of classic mountaineering. \nThere are endless combinations to ski in this big glaciated area and we choose a nice itinerary to see most of it in few days trying to get the best skiing\, nice summits  in the high backcountry of the Alps. \n
